Number of Meetings in Apartments
What is the enough number of meetings?
In order for the apartment building owner board to hold a meeting, the owners of the floors must show a certain number of participants at the meeting place. This specified number is called the number of meeting quotients.
How many meetings are enough in apartments?
The number of meeting capacity in apartments is specified in the Condominium Law No. 634 as follows;
“The board of floor owners meets with more than half of the number and land share of the floor owners and decides by majority of votes. (Amended paragraph: 14/11/2007-5711 S.K./Article 15)
“
As stated in the law, the number of meeting capacity must be more than one half of the number of apartments in the apartment. For example, if you live in an apartment with 28 apartments, the number of meetings for this apartment will be 28/2 + 1 = 15. That is, if 15 people participate in the meeting, a sufficient number of meetings is provided and a decision can be made.
What happens if the number of meetings is not enough?
In the event that the meeting to be held after the meeting of the floor owner's board cannot be provided with a sufficient number of meetings, as stipulated in the Condominium Law No. 634;
“If the first meeting cannot be held due to insufficient numbers, the second meeting shall be held no later than fifteen days later. At this meeting, the number of decision makers is the absolute majority of the participants. The provisions laid down separately in this law for the sufficient number are reserved.”
That is, if you cannot provide the sufficient number of meetings in your first meeting call, you can hold a second meeting without calling a sufficient number of meetings within 15 days at the latest and decide by a majority.
